Here you will find results for devolved legislatures, European Parliamentary elections and UK parliamentary general elections. Our records begin from the UK Parliamentary general election held in 2001 to the UK Parliamentary general election held in 2005.
We also have a responsibility to oversee referendums in the UK. The results for the referendum on a regional assembly for the North East are also available below.

Elections prior to 2001
Prior to our establishment in November 2000, there was no official body in the UK responsible for publishing or analysing the results of major elections in the UK, although a number of media organisations, academic institutions and others have published figures, and you may find the following websites useful for this information. Note: We are not responsible for the content of these sites and cannot verify that the information provided on any of these sites is wholly accurate.
The House of Commons library has also published a research paper giving results for UK elections between 1945 and 2003.
Local election results
We are not required to produce reports on the administration of local government elections in the UK. If you are interested in the results of elections in a particular local council, you should contact the Returning Officer for that council, as they will always be the best source of results information. In the case of Northern Ireland contact the Electoral Office for Northern Ireland.
