Integrity and transparency of party and election finances
Our role as a regulator is to oversee the laws controlling the finances of political parties, and other organisations and individuals engaged in campaigning. We are responsible for ensuring that organisations and individuals comply with:
- the registration and financial regulatory requirements of the Political Parties, Elections and Referendums Act 2000(PPERA)
- the recently introduced Electoral Administration Act 2006 (EAA) and
- the statutory reporting requirements of the PPERA and the relevant parts of the Representation of People Act 1983 (RPA)
