The Electoral Commission commisioned GFK NOP and the Department of Government at the University of Strathclyde, to undertake research into public attitudes towards the Scottish Parliament and local government, examining understanding of its role and responsibilities, exploring the factors that might motivate people to vote in the 2007 elections and knowledge of the electoral systems to be used at the elections.
