We are keen to give you a chance to shape our thinking. Democracy matters - and your say is important. There are several ways that you can get involved with our work or tell us what you think:

• We are committed to developing policy on the basis of evidence and wide consultation. We welcome the views of voters and non-voters, politicians, practitioners, academics as we take forward work to improve and modernise the way that elections are run. Find more information about current and forthcoming opportunities to get involved with our policy reviews.
• We produced a candidates' feedback questionnaire that aims to determine the opinions of candidates and agents, political parties, third parties and Returning Officers about our advice and guidance for the English local government and mayoral elections in 2006.
• In making proposals for changes in boundaries, we are also committed to consulting local people about the impact of the proposed changes, and we take account of concerns raised with us before making final recommendations.
• We hold occasional public events around the UK, which can be found on our conferences and events page.
• Beyond our own consultations and those of Government, we provide other ways to be heard from initiatives of other organisations with an interest in our democracy.
